The Multi-Service Support Center that SGDD-ASAM started to develop as a community center model since 2013 to offer more extensive services for the refugees and asylum-seekers enabled them to benefit from social and legal counselling and psychosocial support, and also language courses, social activities, psychosocial activities, courses aimed at developing their basic life skills and activities for establishing peaceful relationships between the local community and refugees.
English, Turkish and Arabic language courses attended by asylum-seekers from all age groups, computer and arts trainings and vocational education sessions and outdoor activities for the children are among the activities offered at these centers.
Non-food items (NFIs) in meeting the basic needs of vulnerable persons and e-voucher cards for various expenses are offered to the beneficiaries through Multi-Service Support Centers.
These centers operate with social workers, field workers, outreach teams, psychologists, health educators, disability experts, peacebuilding experts, volunteers, interpreters, support teams and administrative staff members.
Multi-Service Support Centers conduct their activities with the support of UNHCR and PRM in Istanbul, Sakarya, Izmir and also with the support of GIZ in Ankara. Our two centers in Gaziantep and Adana are supported by the European Union fund and UNHCR under the IPA40 project.
In 2017, SGDD-ASAM opened Multi-Service Support Centers in another nine provinces with the support of the European Union within the scope of Instrument Contributing to Peace and Stability and started to reach non-Syrian asylum-seekers and refugees, who have limited access to counselling services and activities offered by these Centers.
Multi-Service Support Centers launched their activities in Çankırı, Çorum, Denizli, Eskişehir, Konya, Manisa, Mardin, Nevşehir and Samsun offer their services particularly to non-Syrian asylum-seekers and refugees and to all other refugee groups and the local people.
